Yep. All the time.

So, today started out weird. Sassy (our one and a half year old Shih-tzu) woke me up by laying beside me and scratching/licking herself. I thought she was just ready to get up, so I took her to her crate.  She went to sleep. No problem. Well… while I was waiting for the bus with Haley, I heard the inevitable sound of a dog trying to puke.

She continued to throw up 5 times before lunch and then started shaking and feeling really, really bad. She was so lazy and sleepy and she is usually very energetic. I finally called the vet for an appointment when I couldn’t get her to drink any water.

The vet things it’s just gastritis but was a bit concerned and said that if she isn’t better by tomorrow, bring her straight back for x-rays and bloodwork. He gave her two shots and she seems to be a little better. She has had a little water and a few bites of food and is a tiny bit more energetic. I also splurged on some frontline. I almost gagged when I looked in her ears and found a tick the size of a grape under there. I had JUST combed her hair two days ago. That sucker grew fast!

Despite the negative, I had the pleasure of driving hubby’s grandmother to an errand and treating her to supper. It was just McDonald’s and inexpensive but she just glowed from the attention. I love spending time with her, too.

It really seems lately that God is just blessing my socks off. Every bad thing that happens, well God is just right on top of it. He never ceases to amaze me.

God is good! All the time!

I am sitting here planning out my day and realized that my plans to not leave ALL DAY may be jeopardized by my lack of planning. I have no clue what to cook for supper. I think I have bacon, need to check… fajita meat from Angel Food and sausage and pancakes. One of those may have to do, BUT… my lack of planning leaves me with the same question every night this week. I need to do some planning today.

What is on your “menu” for this week?

Sitting. Finishing up second cup of coffee.

Must shower and take van to Owensboro to fix the door.

Today is going to be busy. I prepared by making sure to tidy things up last night and finish lots of laundry that was begging to be done. Hubby just finished working nights and I always get behind trying to keep the house quiet enough for him to sleep. We had intended to go to church last night and he was just too tired and almost sick from lack of sleep to go. The nasty weather just added insult to injury and we ended up staying home and making homemade pizza.

I am so ready for this week. Only two weeks of school left and I am so excited for summer to be here!

I pray you each have a wonderful week!!

Blessings!

1. Cooked Pancakes and sausage for breakfast. I’m the kid of the crew and the only one who wanted chocolate chips in her pancakes.

2. Soccer game… took lots of pictures, even a few good close ups of some of my girls on the team.

3. Lifting up one little girl in prayer during a difficult situation. Note to self… would love to have a weekly meeting of those involved in Upward for prayer requests and general prayer covering for Upward.

4. Youngest went with church friends to McDonald’s for lunch during game. Such a blessing to not worry about her while trying to coach.

5. Lunch with MIL.

6. To greenhouse to get flowers for MIL for Mother’s Day. MIL showed up not 5 minutes after we got there. Plans changed. ;)

7. To Wal*Mart where I found the coolest deck hangers for window-box flower planters. Bought one set for MIL and for my mom and lots of flowers to fill them. Over-bought and had to plant more flowers for myself. :)

8. MIL offered to grill hamburgers for supper. Another blessing because I did not feel like cooking AT ALL.

9. Bath for the girls while straightening up the house.

10. Rented Alvin and the Chipmunks yesterday but didn’t watch until tonight. Lots of good laughs with my girls while hubby is working.

It has been a good day and a good night. I am still finding myself a bit short tempered but overall… it’s been a good day.

Blessings!

Pretty Petunia

for the family of Samuel.

He passed on sometime this morning after a long 4 year battle with leukemia. His family is rejoicing that he is free but the pain of losing their sweet, sweet little boy has to be tremendous. They need our prayers during this transition. Please lift them up if you have a chance.

Blessings!

Sleeping late (8:30)

Good coffee with real cream

Feeling God’s presence and involvement with a Bible study that was saved just for right now

Just enough light to see my next step

A good book and a good breeze on my front porch while T happily played

Yoga in that good breeze on front porch

cheese and crackers and Jones Soda

Hot Lemon Pecan Bread fresh from the breadmachine

several hours before I have to be cleaned up

more time for the good book

*sigh*

It’s a good day

I started today by going back to sleep after hustling the oldest off to school. It was soooo nice. It’s just a perfect day to sleep in, in my opinion. I really needed the rest, for some reason I’m so tired.

Yesterday was refreshing. I was able to do what needed to be done, but also catch up on some studies and start a new book. A friend called to let me know she was preparing for a yard sale and had some smaller girls clothes. I was able to pick up enough stuff to totally finish T’s summer wardrobe. I felt guilty for paying so little and even rounded up from her prices, but it was such a blessing.

Another quiet day ahead. Church tonight. Lemon Pecan bread in the bread machine. Nice, cool, overcast day to enjoy.

Blessings!

Well, here I am at a crossroads.

It’s exciting but I always get a bit nervous making life changes.

I have an opportunity to do something that I have been wanting to do for some time. It’s pretty easy, laid back and works with my schedule (or lack there-of) pretty well. I will have to go to a weekend workshop and the only one between now and months away is in 2 weeks. I have 3 days to decide and register or the price goes up.

Decisions, decisions.

I have had a good day.

Quick dentist appointment at 8:45 to redo my endo bleaching for another 2 weeks.

Finished cleaning the house up by 11am.

Hubby had a friend and his son over to work at the farm and eat sandwiches for lunch.

Good yoga workout.

Music, study and planning.

Thinking about getting a second shower to go watch a friends son play baseball tonight.

Overall, it has been a GREAT day. It has been my first in weeks that I have not been out of the house all day. It has been so refreshing to just clean and take care of stuff. I’m thrilled to be able to clean. I never, EVER thought I would so whole-heartedly mean that!

I do need to catch up on my Bible study for Wednesday night and the other for my small group meeting. I’m just about workbooked out for this year!

Blessings, all!

We spent the weekend with my parents and the girls had a blast!

Here’s a few pictures to show a glimpse of our weekend!

Turtle love

And now, for some pics of my camera and some “through the viewfinder”-esque pics that I attempted today with it. :)
